Haven't heard the techno/pop version, but Phil Collins recorded "Against All Odds" (theme song of movie by the same name starring Jeff Bridges, Rachel Ward and some other guy I can't recall) -- those words are in that song.

The song is "Against All Odds". It's originally done by Phil Collins, but has been covered by Mariah Carey, Gavin DeGraw, Westlife, and Tarralyn Ramsey. I would guess that one of these covers (but not the Gavin DeGraw one) is the one you're looking for.
