why is it that the people who actually want to help the people around them as much as they can dont have the means to but the people that have the means to are selfish pigs?

That is why they are selfish pigs...They have no intentions of helping in any way, shape, fashion or form. But when it all runs out, they'll be thinking about all the shoulda-woulda-coulda's.

Sounds awful generalized. I think many would be surprised at who help financially or physically. Don't think you can say the rich as a group don't or the poor as a group do. Being a giving person is an individual thing, almost like praying. Making a show of being generous, to me defeats the whole purpose.

Overall, I think the US probably gives more in help, money, food than any other country and I think our citizens are very generous. Not to say other countries aren't. We are just more fortunate in many respects.

Bill Gates, Bono, Rosie O'Donnell...all three super rich, all three give billions combined to charity.

Is our county doing enough to help others? No. That includes me, by the way. I could give a lot more. But the giving and dedication by some of the richest people in America/world is an inspiration.

It's a great wonder.Lots of people that seem like big pricks actually do a lot to help less fortunate. Most don't though. The only way you can support others effectively is if you can support yourself first.
