CONSTANTLY-except its probably really YOUR fault.

Seriously though I blame myself for things that are SO not under my control.

I think it comes from low self esteem and fear of punishment or judgement from others-that's what it is in me anyway-I always wanted to please my parents because I feared their anger-so I end up trying to make sure everyone is accomodated around me-if something goes wrong-even if its not remotely related to my actions I do find a way to accept blame or responsibility for it.

It's very challenging to break this cycle-I've found that the Serenity prayer helps-God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. If I begin from the assumption that most things are beyond my control or influence then that helps me shrug off the things that bother me as though they were my fault.

Therapy is helping me sort through this-hope you are able to overcome this too-it drains the life right out of me-I don't know about you.

Peace,
Dwight

I'm the opposite. Even if it is my fault, I will find a man or small child to blame!

Sadly, yes. Then after I'm done feeling sorry for myself, I figure out a way to make it better next time. The way I see it, we are entitled to the pity pot, but get off it before your legs go to sleep. :)
