Do Casinos teach people how to play poker?

Do they hire people to teach other people how to play poker?

Maybe a training room at the casino.

I don't want to do it online.

IMHO the best casino for a poker "newbie" is the Luxor. They hold a class then you can stay and play for a while against all the other rookies in a very low limit game. >Excalibur does the same, but I like Luxor much better.

These are a few of the best sites

I'm not too sure about the training thing. However, don't sit through a training session if you've never played before and then go play 1/2 (Small blind $1/ Big Blind $2) or something because you are gonna lose a lot of money. 1/2 doesn't sound like a lot but the pots get fairly large (avg $30 or so) and you are probably going to fall in some traps. I recommend playing for free online for a little while and reading the Harrington on Hold'em book volume 1 (blue one). If you do this for a while then sit through a training session you will be much better off. I learned how to play by reading the harrington book and I am a winning player online. If you want to sit through training purely for the fun of it then that is perfectly fine.

If you want a training session for Caribbean stud and 3 card where you are just playing against the house then the training session is perfectly fine.

Good Luck

All the major casinos in both Vegas and Reno have gaming clinics where they teach you the basics of the various games, including poker.

Sure they do, they have lessons for all the games in most casinos. They will tell you how to bet and how to enter the games. Also in your room they have the t.v that shows you all of the games.
