Here is an idea I've had for 30 years or so, and no automaker has come close:
A car with a spring-loaded rubber bumper that goes all the way around a car. It would work somewhat like the bumper cars at amusement parks, but could be styled to looked very sleek, yet save countless hassles and money every day.

my ideal car would have less.

traction control makes me a worst driver... I'd take that out.
I'd take out all the chimes that ring whenever I do something in the car.
I'd take out the speed limiter.
I'd take out the radio with a code where whenever I disconnect the battery I have to look for an hour for the piece of paper with the code for my radio.
I'd take out the horn that sounds when people lock their doors. Now parking lots are symphonies of annoying horns.

My dream car would be a real car... not a computer with wheels.
