I'm crying right now (don't worry why- it's stupid really) and my tears are burning my eyes like soap or something. It's crazy. Am I lacking something in my diet, you think?

It's because of the salt in your tear substance that is burning the "open system" and exposed mucous membranes of your eye.
It's normal, and the actual burning from the salt is cleaning your eye and the ducts as well.

No, your blood vessels in your eyes swell and get irritated and break a little and the salty tears irritate and burn them when you've cried too much. Whatever you're crying about...it's gonna be okay....((((((HUGS))))))

I don't think that that should happen. Tears are supposed to be good for your eye. It cleans them out...

yeah stop sleeping with the contacts in. take em out asap and rinse them with eye rinse. what happens is that bacteria gets cought under the lens and it irritates your eyes.

No, have you got make up on? It may have run in your eyes and is stinging them. Go wash your face.

Yes sometimes they do. It's possibly to much salt causing the stinging.

They are too salty.
Eat more carbs - pasta bread etc with a low salt content.
But don't cut out salt or you will get cramps.
Drink more water to dilute your tears.
