would you rather be wholly and soully at peace,spiritually and love yourself etc or the world be at peace? i guess i am greedy b/c i would so love to be at peace with myself...everything else might just fall into place.....its a nice thought anyway.....

id rather have inner peace as well, after all you cant get any where with others until your where you want to be with yourself.

Peace has to start first from WITHIN each one of us, but unfortunately most of us can not find peace from within, and yet, we all want to find peace from within, wishing that there is no worry, no anger, no hatred, no resentment, no envy, no jealousy , no sadness, no depression...and we have all become relentless, trying to make the peace from within manifest on a concrete , material level, think that if we have 2 cars, a house, a family, 2 beautiful kids, good neighbors and good reputation, we will have peace. But in the end, we will want more because we know we still lack something , maybe a another new car, a new relationship , new friends, new place....and this will never end until we can make peace with ourselves ( and I am not saying acquiring materials is a bad thing, not at all). And the culprit is usually our own ego, and as long as humans go, ego will exist, it wants what it wants, there will be no end to it, if an ego sees another ego having more than what it thinks it should have, then it will try to up the other ego. And this cycle will never end. This might not be a surprise to you, many many of us enjoy tearing each other down, rather than building each other up. Because deep down really, our own ego is in fear that the other person has acquired something that we have always longed for, inner peace. World peace is as important to me as my and your own inner peace. But as long as the latter dont exist, the former will never be a becoming.

Inner peace because world peace is ever going to happen it needs to start from within.

I echo Venus' answer. I think in the order to have "World Peace", there has to be many that have inner peace. I think the calamity that we witness now in the world is the result of so many not having a sense of inner peace and in constant internal chaos.

I hope it doesn't sound selfish, but inner peace sounds great, better than world peace, but maybe it would lead to world peace if most of us had inner peace.
