I am about to graduate with a B.A. in art. I have heard that employers are valuing liberal arts degrees these days but I am wondering how true this is. I have a lot of work experience doing random jobs...anything from medical assisting to waiting tables to lifeguarding to beach attending! What are the chances of finding a good REAL job with my degree?

well you can be a artist if you are good enough. you know those street corner artist who draw faces for like 25-50 bucks a face. theres some artist that do space stuff which charge around the same fee. maybe get a degree in graphic art so you can use your drawing skills with computer language to create computer animations. i never thought of getting a art degree, didnt make financial sense to me but anyways if you can market your art real well you can be rich and an artist, you have to be real creative on your part.

Unless someone in an influential position is funding your education, slim to none. You actually have a better chance if you are on a scholarship. The doner will want to see a "return on investment" even on his charitable contributions. Otherwise, if you spend your own money, your potential employers have no "skin in the game". Unfortunately, this is true whether we are talking about a liberal arts degree or not. Opportunity is a commodity too.
