Lamont was a total A**HOLE to Fred! I swear, if I popped off at the gums to my dad even once, the old man would've laid me out or given me the Marvin Gaye treatment! Anyways, what do you think? Did you notice that too! Lamont sure WAS a dummy!!

Yes Lamont was pretty damn disrespectful. And no one made Lamont live in the junkyard wasn't he like 30 he could have done something else. And how about he would threaten to put Fred in a home so he could go to Tiajuana. Didn't Fred cook, clean and take care of himself, so why would he leave his home to go to an old folks home. He didn't suffer from dementia. But it was a funny show.

They had a very dysfunctional relationship. Fred was constantly scheming to make money and trying to manipulate Lamont. And Lamont was constantly trying to get out from under the shadow of his father's failures. They were both far from perfect. However, in their own little twisted way, they both loved one another. And that's why the show worked. People could really relate to Lamont's growing pains and Fred's failures. Hey, that's life. Or at least it's a sitcom.

Sure was, But then again Fred always called him "Dummy". I always thought they had sort of a love hate relationship, Lamont really did care for his father if he did not then he would have moved out of the junk yard years ago.

Your right--but ya gotta admit that it really does go both ways.
LaMont was just trying to better the business and Fred was content to leave it as is.

at least the son never raised a fist to the father--too bad Fred can't say the same!

He was a smart-mouth. I know he was grown but he was disrespectful. I liked the one where he tried to go Afro-centric and that girl (played by Paula Kelly) called him out.
