I am a newlywed, and I just recently started a new job in childcare. I got sick and was put on antibiotics. I finished my antibiotics on Monday and my husband and I had sex on Friday. How long do antibiotics stay in your system to where you would need to use an alternate mode of protection? Could I be pregnant?

I am on birth control but I was taking antibiotics. I had only been off of the antibiotics for 4 days when my husband and I had sex. Is it possible I could be pregnant?

I'm assuming you are on the birth control, and referring to the fact that anti-biotics can counteract the pill, and you are supposed to use alternative methods of protection. I was told by my doctor to wait until I had my next cycle before stopping the alternative birth control method.

yes, if you were ovulating at the time then you could be pregnant. Taking antibiotics does not mean that you can't get pregnant. Doctor's will tell you that when you are on the Pill to use other means of birth control because you can get pregnant if you taking antibiotics and on the Pill.

antibiotics, Can have an affect on your birth control.. SO go take a test in 3 weeks and see!!!!

i would say go to the doctor i got sick too and next thing i knew i was pregnant we got married march 22nd 06 and i got pregnant April 17th 06
