I don't know if it's a thing....... it's probably an idea. It likely relates to the 1960s. It's a possible ID topic on my history final tomorrow, and I have no clue what it is.

I have the impression a "McLecture" is a generic college lecture you buy on-line if you can't be bothered to show up at the actual lecture.

"I'm so glad to hear you support the notion that a university student "who'd just rather not show up for class" should have the opportunity to buy a McLecture on-line (editorial, Sept. 28)."

"Online lectures help depersonalize college", Letters to the Editor, News-Record.com, Sunday, October 8, 2006 : http://blog.news-record.com/staff/letters/archives/2006/10/online_lectures.html

Unless it refers to a Manning Clark Annual Lecture, but that's an Australian thing and only started in 1990s.

Is this a reference to McDonald's?
McMansion, McJob, McHappiness etc?

More of an 80s/90s reference, maybe referring to a generic history lecture, offensive to none, high in calories, but with little nutritional value.
