Any Bass players in the house?

Question

what's the cheapest I could do fer a rick (4001 preferably), I got a nice vintage '79 Fender musicmaster (red), and I'm totally broke, but I was just wandering

Rics are nice but way out of my league to buy... as a rule I usually see them for over a grand (and way way up), especially 4001s. Maybe eBay but I could still see them going for way over that.

I'm a HS student anyways, I have a cheap Samick bass and am ordering a new SX SPB57 this week, hopefully. (Both under 200$) It's hard to find lefty basses anywhere.

check e-bay. ive got a 76 p-bass that ive seen go from $1200 all the way up to $2700. it must depend on how desperate the person is. i check it every once in a while, and have seen good guitars go cheap. try not to sell your fender. back in the late 70s i let a vintage 60s gibson sg go because i wanted something else, and look what theyre worth now.

Rickenbacker?
I not have a Bass, but, would like in the future. The store I buy my Guitars from sells nothing but String Instruments. Guitars, Violins, Cellos, etc. If it got Strings, they sell it. Many times they take a used instrument in on trade when it in good condition. Most of their used looks like new.
So, call around and you may find something nice. I just bought a new Washburn Electric Guitar yesterday, and it is $269 new, they had a used one looked just as good for $99. But, it was a Silver-Grey and I really wanted the Dark-Red, not sure of the exact color name.
