Wahahahahah "economy is the best ever" I actually fell out of me seat when I read that. Holy CRAP are you WRONG! Our dollar is crap, sure unemployment is down, compared to previous years in the Bush admin, but is still up compared to years prior to Bush. The stock market is SO over inflated (anyone remember 1999-2000 crash? ANYONE!? it is identical...oh and also identical to 1929...anyone take history?) And you're right, the war is the biggest problem. Also the biggest mistake in recent U.S. history.

Oh, and trying to get a Constitutional ban on gay marriage (for reasons that can ONLY be religious..and I am religious), faith based initiatives and many many other acts by Bush show he really does want a theocracy, but I Hope he doesn't get it...I really hope.

It's hard to put all that into a one-word term. Modern-day conservatives could be described as neoconservatives, who are really sort of libertariarians, who want to minimize government under the idea that the marketplace will solve all problems. This is really an article or religious faith, not something that's been empirically tested, although a market-based economy does better than an ostensibly planned economy. How about "theoconservatives"? You heard it here first and you can have it for nothing.

I would say that neocon is the proper way to describe them. I doubt that Bush and many others in his cabal even care about religion one way or the other. They just use it to deceive some Conservatives who really should know better.

What is commonly referred to as "conservatism" in the media is in fact a mix of theocracy and plutocracy. There are elements of Fundamentalist Christian dictatorship (ban abortion, throw homosexuals in jail, outlaw hip-hop and punk rock, deny religious freedom especially to Muslims/Atheists/Pagans, draconian penalties for marijuana use). The plutocracy part advocates abolishing labor unions, letting big business get away with murder, and using violent police repression to suppress lower-class uprisings when they are thrown out in the street.

As a proud American socialist I find the right-wing ideology to be morally disgusting.

Bush is like Captain Ahab in the book Moby Dick.

The sole survivor of a lost whaling ship relates the tale of his captain's self-destructive obsession to hunt the white whale, Moby Dick.

Tied to the side of the white whale waving for his shipmates to kill the whale. Even though he was dead his arm moved as the whale swam in the ocean.

I don't see Bush's administration trying to turn this country
into a theocracy. Bush is just adament that this country win
the war and not result to defeatism. I appreciate that. He
has not waffled on this as did most Democrats. Other than
the war controversary, this country is doing very well, thanks
to Mr. Bush and his conservatism. Economy is the best ever.
I think one answerer had it right when he said liberals new
name is "traitors".
