There are probably any number of chics who could be your soul mate. The best way to make it work is to be the best person you can be. Be happy and at peace with life. Be as loving as you can to others. What ever you send out comes back. If you want love be love to others. Meditation helps

It would help if you could define what YOU mean by soul mate. Even if you did, I don't believe in "finding" that person. As if it were a plan, a long search. Trying to "find" something or someone CAN be so single focused, one doesn't see the open doors. A "soul mate" is an ideal, perfect, forever person. It's sort of a guarantee & life isn't like that. How about simply finding "mutuality," simply to enjoy? No great expectations carved in stone, just flowing with a relationship & see where it goes?

I don't know, sometimes when I think about that I get sort of depressed, but then I think the other person may be thinking the same and that sort of helps to share my loneliness :) ..I don't think you should worry about that, it's better to have confidence in life, it will come ( I hope :P) ..just try to make the best of each opportunity you have.
My dad's advice was: ¨make friends¨that way you won't lost : if you don't find him it's allright cause you made friends, and if you find him it's better cause you'll have your soul mate AND friends :)... Good luck with it :)
