Lord, no. The way to gain a soulmate is to create one. You also have to change yourself along the way.

If anything, you're far LESS likely to find your soulmate if you restrict your pool of candidates by something as meaningless as when they were born. Astrology, eastern or western style, has *N*E*V*E*R* been able to stand up to scientific scrutiny, despite what the True Believers may say. When (or where) you were born has jack squat to do with your personality, which is instead shaped by genetics, your upbringing, your culture, friends, and life experiences.
And even if there were anything to astrology, it still wouldn't help you to find a soulmate. Some people are attracted to those who share a lot of their same beliefs & personality traits, while others are attracted to their opposites. Therefore it really makes no sense to say that people born under one sign are automatically compatible with those born under some other sign.
Just go out into the world and meet lots of people. Love has a way of happening on its own, without regard to silly superstitions.

No. I agree with most of what future P says, except that astrology isn't a silly superstition. Your own experiences will show you what signs with whom you're most compatible, but never, never astrology books or horoscopes or Websites. & even then, (from your OWN pattern of experience) the signs that you're attracted to, or are attracted to you, while having many benefits, this doesn't mean they will be the "love of your life," or your soul mate, as you put it. The generalizations in astrology references are ALWAYS contractory to what I know is true of me. I certainly wouldn't discourage you, nor I would I encourage you to follow astrology. My opinion, based on my experiences & that of others tells me it would be a waste of your time. But it's your time! So go ahead if you want. Good luck in...whatever.

Soul mate or very compatible...your personal astrological chart can tell you if you're compatible or not with another person if you also have their chart (or date of birth) and compare it with your own. This is called synastry; there are books on this or info online if you do a search.
