My flower beds are loaded with grub worms. My questions is - Is there an alternative way to get rid of these without using harmful chemicals.

Hi!
I have been battling the same problem in a new house! If you are in a hurry, get yourself a Pre-Emergent which should help battle the little guys. The problem with Grubs is that they grow up to become Japanese Beetles and that's a whole other story! To preempt the problem, use the chemical or take a more long-term, holistic approach: go to a nursery and get Milky Spore- it really kicks! !f you are willing to wait a year of two- it CAN't be used in conjunction to any insect killer since that will kill the beneficial spores. If you have the time to wait, the Milky Spore is pricey, but well worth the $$ and wait and it pays itself back in the long-haul! It lasts for more than 10 years! Your yard, your choice!

With sympathy, :)

Michele

Go get a bag of chewing tobacco. Take out 1/3 of it, wrap it in a paper towel & soak it in a gallon jar of hot water. Then mix in a sprayer & spray the yard. Will not harm anything but the grubs.

I would suggest that you use or look at the product called; "Milky Spore". It is a naturally occuring bacteria that controls grubs in soils.
