It may need a Wall Adapter. Probably see a wire or plug on the mower to connect. If the battery been dead for a long time it will need replaced. If, you know someone who know about batteries and can figure out what Voltage it is, you may be able to use a $20 Riding Mower battery and just recharge with a regular car battery recharger. The Link is Sears Parts, you need the Model Number and stuff and may find a PDF file of the Manual for free, just need Abode to view.

Ask the giver/seller for the electric plug that charges the battery. Plug it in for a few hours, then test it out.

However a mower of this sort is a new concept to me. Sure there is not a plug on it somewhere for an electric cord?

I'd much rather have Carmen Electra then an Electric Cordless whatever.
