Illinois is .08 and many states seem to be going to that. There are some that are probably still at .10. Keep in mind, for the average person, even .10 is probably only about 3 drink in about an hour and a half. There are many variables that affect this but once you get to about 6 drinks in a 2-3 hours period, you'd probably be legally under the influence.

Also many states have a no tolerance for any amount of alcohol in the blood of a minor. In Illinois that means any alcohol and if your under 21, you lose your license.

There is no safe drinking strategy if you are driving. A collision doesn't have to be your fault to get arrested.

Responsible drinking probably includes some food with the drinks, minimize the amount of drinks and maximize the time between drinks.

Worst consequence is death and that says it all for family, friends, and community.
