I wear whatever I feel comfortable in but I also make sure that I feel good in what I wear. If you're tan then light colored clothes will bring out your skin tone more. What's the weather like tomorrow? Is there a chance of rain? Is it cold in your school? Ask yourself these questions and take them into consideration while planning your outfit. If it's cold, I like to layer. I dress up my plain white polo shirt and layer it with a cute printed tank top and a scarf and pair it with jeans and sneakers. On the other hand if it's hot, I like wearing capris, slippers and beach looking tee and appear as if I'm going to the beach!
Don't over accessorize when going to school. Choose one major accessory say just go with bangles and leave out the hoop earrings or a necklace. Or go with a long necklace but leave out the others, you get the point.
Bottom line is you have to be comfortable in what you're wearing and be sure to make your outfit your own. Hope I helped! Good luck :)
