Be completely honest. People appreciate honesty.
However, are you being honest with yourself???? Is it really true that you have "no time" or is it that you don't care enough to MAKE the time? This may be a painful question for you to ask yourself.
If you do truly care, come up with an option for an alternative date and time which is mutually convenient.

Just be honest...tell them your really busy. Then make a plan for a certain day to visit them.

If you decided this is a true statement. They must understand. If it is a older adult - they are probably lonely and need company. Try to call them once and a while If this is a loved one make time. You'll regret it later when that person is gone!
Otherwise it's YOUR time - this is so important to you. Don't feel like you have to go over there and sacrifice your important.
