He's getting rocked again tonight by the Mariners. He's now 3-2 with an era of 5.45.

I must say I'm not surprise considering he's no longer in Japan and is pitching against real hitters.

He's just another Chan Ho Park and Hideo Nomo. Can you say 101 million down the "washiki"! ( That's toilet )

Here we go with the excuses.
First off Jeffery don't even put a 4 time champion, clutch hitting shortstop in the same conversation as a over hyped up Chan Ho Park Jr. And no he does not get better.

And for little Corey. I watch more baseball in a week than you do in a year. Dice-K has a era of 5.45 and that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact he does or does not get run support even if we gave him those two games. Ok! Thank you.

Marc C, FYI yes he has 2 expensive wins vs. the Yankees. 6 runs in 7 innings and 4 runs in 6 innings. That's 10 runs in 13 innings NOT GOOD!

redsoxfan2244 Are you kidding? It took MLB teams less than 3 weeks to figure thsi guy out. You keep telling yourself he will get better. 5.45 era of 101 million. Sleep tight.

Collin W, I detect a littl sarcasm there. Don't think for a minute the Yankees won't right the ship and get back on top. If I seem to remember Boston finished in 3rd place last year. Think about it.

Joe B don't make me laugh. Detroit all of a sudden has a pulse and you want to talk crap with the big boys. Have a seat and know your place. Did Detroit win the WS last year? My bad No! Go pick on someone your own size like the Royals. Dice-K is a huge bust! Sweep or no sweep.

Jake K. , Okajima and Papelbon are nice no doubt. Maybe they can show Dice-K how to get get people out. All-Star? Are you high. And as for Igawa, when never said he was the sh#t nor did we pay him 101 million dollars.

Ballzy. I expected more from you.
You know he's a bust.

He just doesn't have any over powering stuff. Guys are getting a good clean look at his pitches and are driving them all over the park.

He's another Ishii at best. That 5.45 era will not go away anytime soon.

It's a bit early to call him a bust. Yes, his last two games were rough. The first 4 games showed that he can be a dominant pitcher. After all, 2 of his wins were against the Yankees. Right now, he had adjustments he has to make. He's in a different league, country, culture and team. There is also the language barrier that will get easier to cross over time. He also needs to have more control on his pitches. The Red Sox pitching coach and Varitek is doing a great job with their pitchers this year. Just look at Okajima and Beckett! Dice-K will get better by July, if not sooner.

You Yahoo Baseball experts truly crack me up. i'm niether a Sox fan, nor a Yankee fan so right here's my 2 cents. a million. it really is waaaaaay too early to call this guy a bust. that is a actuality. Yankee followers, in case you could call dice a bust now, then you actually extra effective be calling your season a bust now too. 2. dice is coming from a very diverse pitching mission in Japan. He needs time to get positioned with the yankee League hitters. Yankee followers, job my memory back how Randy Johnson did for you contained in the yankee League? Yeah, i presumed so. 3. about the above, there are some pitchers that can't adjust to the AL batters and gameplan (Johnson) and easily do extra effective in a tumbler's league (NL). Nevermind having to go back to a very diverse u . s . a .. supply the guy time to settle in and get his mechanics excellent. once he does that he will be positive. 4. speaking of which Yankee followers, how nicely is Roger throwing for you today? Yeah, concept so. you do not even recognize if he can get lower back into structure, nevermind if he may even nonetheless throw like he used to. Will you all be calling him a bust after his first 5 starts if he's slightly shaky coming lower back? Yeah, i did not imagine so. 5. It develop into nicely in many circumstances going on earlier dice were given to Boston that he had administration issues at circumstances. They knew this going into it. All they could do is make sure with him on it. 6. If dice is a bust already, the Yankees finished starting up rotation has been a bust because the starting up of the season and Roger received't make a lot of a dent to fix that. reality. It certain sucks at the same time as someone can use it hostile for your arguements would not it?

Depends are you willing to call Igawa a bust yet. 3 weeks and he already is in the pen... in New York! They need starters and he's in the pen. But Daisuke is just having control problems. Ask this question again around the All-Star break. Then see all these people laugh at you with Dice-K's recent triumphs. Next start will be a lot better. Okajima rules! The bridge to Papelbon!

Im a Yankees fan that watched Dice-K pitch in Japan for 3 years so I will answer this one.
He was awesome in Japan for the Seibu Lions everytime he pitched the game sold out. (which in Japan when they sell capacity they dont stop selling tickets they just pack people in the stadium...I guess they have no fire codes) I always thought he would do "good" in the Big Leagues but, not great. He gets down on himself after a bad outting and it effects him. As far as him turning it around I think he will. He will win 15 games this year and his Era will hover around 3.5 but, I definetly do not think he is worth the price tag. They could have gotten 2 really good pitchers for that price.
But, I guess time will tell. I would like to see him do well though. (but let his bullpen blow it for him because I am a Yankees fan lol)

I would have to say that the Red Sux rolled the Dice K and they got snake eyes....WOW....it's actually pretty hard to get knocked around by seattle. You almost have to be trying to give up 5 runs to them. Much less in one inning....And if i recall, the Dice was utterly abused by the yankee lineup....Send him back, get a sushi platter instead. Of course, i wouldnt mind sending Igawa back with him.

Oh, Red Sox fans, you might wanna check the standings more than once a month, Yankees arent in last anymore.

Jeter wasnt a bust in his first season. He was .314 10HR 78RBI far from bust( and proved to be clutch ). A better example would be Hideki Irabu. And yes Dice-K seems like a bust now.I read somewhere that Japanese starting pitchers have more problems transitioning to MLB than position players or relief pitchers( a few examples Ichiro,Hideki Matsui, Saito, Okajima)

He sucks. Only team he has done decent against was the Royals. he got rocked by the Mariners. 5 walks and 1 K? I thought this guy was going 2 strike all of the american players out. Sayonara $103 million, 4 a pitcher u could have gotten 4 1.3 million, or 13K 4 that matter.

I agree, he's a bust. I am a Yankee fan, but that is not why I said this. I watched the 20 yr old pitch an almost no hitter and it was his only second game in the majors and he is from the US not a guy from another country. GO YANKEES !!!!!
