Ho, Walter Schirra. I did not know he passed away. He was one of the original 7, the Mercury astronauts, and he flew in all 3 programs -- Mercury 8, Gemini 6A, and Apollo 7 -- which did not go to the moon, it must be pointed out, it was a training mission to rehearse some of the activities that would later be required for a moon shot.

Astronaut Walter Shirra Jr.. He was 84 yrs old. It just doesn't seem that long ago that he flew in the space capsule Mercury Seven (Friendship Seven).
