I payed too high a prize in my past, when I ignored my conscience and now I truly try to follow my conscience. Sometimes it speaks loud to me and sometimes it gives just a gentle input. What happens sometimes is that I follow my tendency to trust my intellectual thinking or what other people say more then my conscience. Then my conscience tries really hard to let itself heard to the point that I feel real pain in my solar plexus. Then I usually wake up and turn around.
If you yourself long enough in your own life ignore your own conscience you will one day realize that you went a wrong path and this realisation is very hard as often lost opportunities cannot be recovered.
It will indeed keep you away from lots of harm and hurt if you decide based on your free decision to follow your conscience, before it must hit you the hard way. My wish for you is that you do that.

Personally, I feel conscience is simply another word for conscious judgment, being based on childhood, such as morals. Also, conscience could very well arise out of habitual repetition - not having a basis in truth. Therefore, I'm gonna give the answer: Yes. Besides, ignoring it would mean a greater perception of the world and its inputs :D.

Conscience informs. That you ask, says you still have one, recognize a problem and seek a solution.
Since conscience informs, you can only ignore it at your own peril.
I'd suggest a meditational path...of your choice. Raja yoga is best, for beginners, IMHO. Combines all the best of the other yoga techniques into one.
If that's not for you, try a martial arts course. Either way, gets you to self control and realizing self.
Hope this helps you.

Sure you could ignore your conscience, but in the process of ignoring it your denying the truth....and fundamentally altering your reality by ignoring it!
And that's not a good thing.....if you feel guilty, that carries over to everything you do, and how you experience and relate to your reality and everyone around you.

You must learn to not ignore your conscience. It will protect you. When human thought reaches the point where it doesn't care anymore, watch out, because that is when it all hits the fan.

Don't ignore your conscience. However, make sure that your conscience is well-ordered in relation to the goods tauted by Aristotle. That is, real and not apparent goods.

Your conscience is there to tell you from right and wrong. Ignoring it would depend on the level of the wrong. I think everybody does it to a certain degree.

A conscience (the self) is the source of great suffering. Of course, if we believe that doing something is wrong, why do it in the first place?
At any rate, blaming yourself and punishing yourself is pretty much a waste of time.
Of course, most people have misplaced guilt and responsibility, so the experience of guilt is particularly pointless.
We're imperfect. Accept it and move on.
