Provided that they are DVI-I outputs. I would be very surprised if at least one was not.

DVI-I has the connections for digital (DVI-D) and analog (DVI-A)

Most graphics cards ship with a DVI-A to VGA converter as the signals are the same, just the connectors are different. If you do not have one you should be able to get hold of one pretty easily. Or if your cable plugs into the back of the monitor you can get a DVI-A to VGA cable. The signal quality will be slightly better, but it probably would not be that noticeable.

It doesn't matter as to the cable. cable length is not sufficient to kill or improve. Use the existing VGA from the monitor to an adaptor on the Video card.

It should work just fine. I believe my brother has a CRT hooked up like this, and it is an older CRT as well.

yes but if its an older VGA monitor then you may not be able to do high resolutions.
