Actually most small towns are the only places left that have wonderful small restaurants, independent bookstores, and small coffee houses. Frankly, I'm tired of national chains. While Barnes & Noble has done a pretty good job, nothing can compare to places like The Front Street Book Shop in Scituate Harbor, Massachusetts, which is near The Mill Wharf Restaurant, The French Bistro and the wonderful shopping of The Welch Company. A place where clean salt air does not compete with auto emissions!

I moved to Wyoming from the Philadelphia area. I can tell you without a doubt that you will miss good food the most. Amazon will bring you books in 2 days for free if you join their Prime club. Coffee houses are everywhere. Good restaurants are hard to find. The funny thing is that I lived in the middle of cattle country and could not go out for a good steak. The butcher had fabulous meat but I couldn't get a decent steak in restaurant anywhere in Riverton or Lander. I really miss Clark's Meat Market, they had the best beef and veal.

I live in a small town. Population 5,000. We have all of that here. I have lived in large cities and it seems that that small towns have so much more to offer. We have more freedom because there is less crime. More fresh air because there is far less pollution. More time because work is just a five minute drive away. More friends because the people are better. (everyone knows everyone) And there is a whole lot more of others things that I can do here that I could never do in a large city. Oh ya and the tap water taste good and is safe both at the same time

I moved from a city of about 250,000 to one of about 25,000. I missed everything! I missed good coffee shops, big chains and local places, and being close to everything. It was miserable. After I moved, they got a friggin' Starbucks. I would've been happy with at least that much while I was there.
I visited the little city about two years ago, and the ONLY place I liked had shut down. Go figure.

I lived in small towns all my life, I have lived outside of Raleigh NC ( capital) lived in a middle size town but i still prefer small towns. They have nothing I'm interested in that a small town can't offer as well. I don't drink coffee so.... small towns have nice bookstore and restaurants some of the best foods have come from the bars.

The town would have a restaurant and I could get my coffee there. It probably a bookstore and antique store instead of a mall. But what it would not have is all my friends! That is what I would miss.

I'd miss my favorite restaurants from where I lived before. I also miss some of the shopping stores I was used to.

well i know that i would miss my friends the most. but if you are talking about recreation-wise I'd say that well I'd miss everything because everywhere you had gone before you moved had a memory in it.
