It depends on your league what standards are considered "normal" and "average".

USA Swimming Boys 11-12 50m Free "Best of 2007" current times range from the National Age Group Champ with a 25:51 to the boy in 25th place with a 29:18. So if you're swimming USA sanctioned events then you're right on track. YMCA national times are about the same. The 11-12 Boys 50m Free Team Record on my team currently stands at a 27.91.

That being said, keep up the good work! Try to break the :30 as soon as you can, you're a great asset to your team!

Good luck!!!

If that is actually your first meet and you're really only in 7th grade then you probably have a good amount of raw talent assiting you there. As for the average im not quite sure but you need to continue training in and out of the pool to ensure that you're talent is not wasted. In the next year or so you should see your time drop drastically because of your training and because of your growth in general. Anyway good luck!

i do not recognize what training you do yet to get extra effective on the 50m you should develop right into a good 100m and 200m swimmer also. this can help to construct your all round health and stamina a plus for any race. once you've purely purely began racing then i'd advise that you practise plenty yet no longer difficulty if the circumstances do not fall as without delay as you develop into hoping and verify you keep issues in attitude a million/2 2d in a 50m=a million sec in a 100m and a couple of sec in a 200m etc. i'd also advise that you search for the question "a thanks to suitable certain factors of a starting up dive???" and follow the suggestion I printed on there. desire this permits and do not supply up.

30 seconds is pretty good for your first time. You keep swimming and your time will certainly decrease. I have been swimming for 2 years and I swam a 25.51 seconds. Average is like 26 seconds. But for your first time, that's really good. Keep swimming. The more you swim the better you are!

That is pretty good for your first time i have been swimming for 10 years im in 9th grade and i go a 26 if you havent been training a lot then it is pretty good but once you start training then it should be a lot lower especailly if you are a guy for me some of the other girls on my team who are in 8th grade they go 28 so shot for that but for guys you need to try to get under 26. so i would say you have a lot of work cut out for you but keep the good work up

:30 seconds for long-course is a good time for a 7th grade boy is very good. Start experimenting with the other strokes and distances too.

If you're really in 7th grade and you really did a 30 for a 50m free on your FIRST meet...you're movin' right along...you should keep up what you're doin'; trainin' wise [in hte pool and dryland]

The normal time is about 30 to 40seconds. Your time is about the same as 100 freestyle.
