Which Bush?

The one who squandered the respect and goodwill that the U.S. enjoyed among nations and peoples by pursuing an ill-advised, poorly-planned and badly-executed war in Iraq and justifying it with demonstrably false claims, thus impairing our ability to rally the world to any truly important cause?

Or the one who focused his attention--and the nation's efforts--on Iraq, while failing to effectively confront the very real nuclear programs in Iran and North Korea, as well as the growing power of China?

Or the one who has advanced--and acted upon--the belief that the president, in time of war, is not bound by constitutional restrictions on his authority, even while telling us that the "War on Terror" is essentially eternal?

Or the one who used miniscule tax cuts for the average citizen to bribe the people into supporting huge tax cuts for the wealthy, thus creating record government debt just a few years after his predecessor had submitted two consecutive budgets with surpluses?

Or the one who deepened the cultural divide in this country by taking a hard evangelical-Christian line on most cultural issues, even as he knows that more than half of the country doesn't share his hard-core beliefs?

Or the one who ignored the long-term environmental dangers that loom over our future and instead catered to short-sighted corporate interests on environmental policy, even having White House officials with no scientific background rewrite scientific reports that did not support administration policies on issues like global warming?

I'm not really a fan of any of them.

It is not wrong to ask the question. It is only wrong if you are a fan of Bush. He certainly is not a fan of Americans. He does not like anyone with an alternative lifestyle. That would include about 90% of us. He also shafted children's educational services with his "No Child Left Behind". He was correct with NCLB, it's all children left behind. That doesn't include Bush ignoring the United Nations, pissing off the world and ordering the deaths if innocent children, women, men and animals in an illegal war. I could go on and on...
