To be honest, it's less addictive than doped up factory tobacco so let's legalize it and tax it! I bet we can balance the budget then. Would anyone like to hear my thoughts on legalized prostitution next.... anyone... drat.

yes, long ago, treated the same as alcohol, taxed, regulated as to quality, and sold to adults only. Field tests for driving while high, etc. ...same as alcohol..the difference is, grass is not nearly as toxic as alcohol, causes few problems, I have never met a "mean doped out' guy, (you cannot say that about drunks), and I have seen very little side effects except from those who abuse the drug...as with anything, abuse leads to some nasty things. ... loss of short term memory (temporary, unlike the permanent damage of alcohol). The US government has been extremely stupid here...all that money in the hands of organized crime and drug cartels. What a terrible waste...our prisons full of those who sell or use...terrible waste of human life at great expense to the tax payer. Ridiculous!

Well, of course. Then I could simply go to the corner gas station and buy a pack of green smokes. A marvelous idea. Why doesn't the rest of the world (and by that I mean the ones in charge) see it this way?

Ive never done it (first hand) nor do i ever intend to do it but it should definitely be legalized. and taxed. along with strict laws about driving like alcohol.
i think that the government should issue drug purchasing licences (like drivers) when you buy products (including alcohol and tobacco), you present your card and it gets swiped and recorded in a database. if minors end up with products that you purchased you lose the privilege of buying. (suspension or forever depending) (could also be tied to DUI)

Probably would make things more controlled and better regulated, so yes. This skirmish in the war on drugs is lost and distracting people from the more serious problems.

I think it should be legal but it isn't going to be. The government makes too much $$ from it being sold illegally. But it's a part of nature and I think it was put here for us to enjoy - not for rabbits and deer!

a recent british study shows a link between moderate to frequent marijuana use and adult onset schizophrenia. I think more studies need to be done before its made legal, if this turns out to be true them perhaps not.

It should at least be decriminalized, which means you get a fine I think for possession, instead of going to jail.
Your jails are overcrowded with people who aren't real criminals, decriminalization would help out a ton.
