She was into weird new age stuff, and knew she was going to die because she was driving too fast on mountain roads in central America. Perhaps it was suicide. She always was the drama queen of TLC and the least talented member of that not very talented trio. One great video does not a legacy make. Her own narcissism had a lot to do with it. She had shown mental instability for years. Remember when she burned down Andre Rison's house? Her so-called vision was probably the result of a temporal lobe disorder commonly known as limbic epilepsy, whose seizures are not physical but mental and cause people to hear voices or hallucinate. Skeptical Inquirer magazine did a piece on her dabblings in an eclectic assortment of religions. She was into yet another form of syncretic Christianity and heading for a meeting with a guru/pastor/scam artist in Central America and probably had a limbic seizure while driving, causing her to say 'this is it, time to die.' I'll wager dollars to doughnuts her own record company produced that show in order to boost TLC's lagging CD/DVD sales. Metallica paid to produce their own documentary and then paid VH1 to air it. You may have been watching an infomercial unwares.

She died in a car crash in Honduras on April 25, 2002.
It was a head-on collision a little before 6 p.m. outside La Ceiba, a town on the Atlantic coast of Honduras.
Lopes was driving and was killed instantly.
She was one of eight people in the car.

She died in a car accident. It was very sad to hear about. Whenever I hear their songs on the radio it reminds me of what happened to her since I always forget.I love their songs, they bring me back to the early 90's.

She died in a car accident. I heard she was driving an SUV and went off the road. It didnt happen in the US.
