Why is the U.S. so concerned about Iran?

Iran is only Israel's problem. Let Israel stand up and fight for once instead of always relying on Americans to do their grunt work. Oh, wait AIPAC won't allow for that.

I could care less about Iran, the administration is using it to leverage against Russia with the absolutely assinine Missile shield in Poland. The Poles dont care they remember the Bears occupation and like to thumb their noses. But all it does is increase instability. Iran refuses to stop uranium enrichment and allow IAEA inspectors to oversee the process. Iran refuses conditions for negotiation and there may possibly be military action on the horizon. Obviously, Iran will defend itself and counter attack. However US and its allies have by far more miltary might.

For a country of its size, Iran has a formidable military.

Amphibious ready group LHD-5 Bataan ( USS Oak Hill, USS Shreveport). Each carrier carries an air wing of F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet fighter-bombers, EA-6B Prowler electronic warfare aircraft, S-3 Viking refueling and anti-submarine planes, and E-2C Hawkeye airborne command-and-control aircraft.
