I have been hearing about HD radio and it has piqued my interest. Does anyone have any experience with it, and is it worth it? I haven't researched it at all, and know nothing about it. Are there extra radio stations in ever city/town?

HD radio has clearer reception and is not as prone to multipath distortion. Many but not all HD stations offer additional program choices in addition to the main program. Wyoming Public Radio has 14 HD stations around the state, it will be another year before they all get the additional programs. If you listen to AM stations they sound really great in HD. If price is an issue, more radio models are coming out this year and next that should be under $100.

I'm shopping for one myself and they start at pretty reasonable prices near $100 and go up from there. I'm looking for the right combination of features before I take the plunge. I've been reading a lot of user reviews and one thing I will be watching out is a complaint I've seen about radios automatically switching between HD and analog. In a fringe area, it will keep switching back and forth, which would be most annoying. I would want to be able to switch to analog only, when that happens. The widespread verdict is HD is worth it for the reasonable prices available. When buying, be sure you look for HD rather then HD "ready". You will need to buy an extra module to get HD radio with that.
