We broke up-- but not for racial reasons. He was just too immature.

I have been in an interracial relationship. It was my first and only relationship. I'm black and he was puerto rican. It was tough at first because his family didn't accept me and spread rumors about me to break us up. But eventually they had to accept me because no matter what they did...it didn't break us up. Even though most of the time I wanted to end the relationship.

yup ... for a couple years dated a switchboard-operator who wrote music and sang in opera chorus and wrote poetry and knew people who lived in boats and near bays in SDgo and sometiems needed minor car-repairs at 1 in the morning. She was a wonderful woman but we drifted apart.

she was afr-amer and I was plain-vanilla
and the way the world seems to work is not by
big dramatic moments, but day-to-day little things

there *were* minor racial things, but larger issues were regular ol' personality dynamics of "mesh"
and goal-settings.

ps my girlfriend of last couple decades was born in asia ... we got along fairly well

Yes, I am Black and my wife is Latina. It works out just like any other relationship. Our problems that arise have nothing to do with color ever.
