On an inkjet, regardless modern or old nor was the opinion that Lexmark inkjets are clogging pieces of ____, there are 3 things to it: printer itself, ink tank, head/nozzles those are separable items on the market, heads being costly and repair shop item.

Head/nozzle can clog easily from previous use that was a while ago. Clean heads usually let printer apply ink flow from the ink cartridges pressure to itself to remove the clogging. I had a quality Canon Made in Japan bubble jet that gave out after 12 years I don't expect such quality found in modern merchandizes but that one also need head cleaning from time to time for the same reason.
