How do you feel about reparations for the African American community? Native Americans have already been granted them.. I believe it is only fair to do the same for us African Americans. But I believe the money should be granted to black institutions and foundations.. not individual people.. but for the causes that work towards building up the communities.. surely only good would come of this..

I'm not a racist and my wife is a Kiowa Comanche or Native American. The money paid to her people is for the land taken from them. This was their country. I would like to encourage you to get over your racism. Its obvious that you think America owes you a dept. I am so sorry that your people or anyone were subjected to such cruelty as slavery. But if you think it would be right to make restitution to the black people why don't your people start by paying the Hebrew people for the 430 years that the black people held them in slavery in Egypt?

They stole the Native Americans land which is really big I think they should just give back their land. No i don't think they or African American should get reparations in the form of money because African Americans today were not slaves and the people who owned slaves are not alive today so why would you want someone to pay for someone Else's mistake. I'm Hispanic not fully but I know plenty of real Latinos that have roots with pure native blood and no one is giving them their reparations.

Native Americans also had their cultures largely wounded and had nowhere else to go as it was their home that was taken out from under them. It's not quite the same as Africa and cultures, on the other hand, was and is still there.
How 'bout this though...our government stop throwing away so much of our hard earned money we are forced to give to it, and a chunk does go to the betterment of black folks, especially kids. And other parts to help others as well, like the many many the Native folks who live in poverty on all those reservations that have so many problems.
However, as a woman and all that women have been through in this world, I can expect some focus on us too, right?

what reparations have Native Americans got? I missed that one.
I think there is a lot of resistance to what you suggest because American long-term memory is an oxymoron. Most people say, "slavery was a long time ago" and don't realize the obstacles and injustices that have continued since then.
Also, a lot of us did not have ancestors in this country during slavery, or did not participate in slavery, and some of our ancestors also faced discrimination. These factors as well, rightly or wrongly, contribute to resistance.

They already have... think about the scholarships for minority, welfares and the EEOC.
Anymore reparations are to REPAIR the GAPS and UNITE our COUNTRY as a SINGLE NATION!

Where would the money come from? There is no one around today that deserves to pay it and the taxpayers burden is already too large. Who pays?
