Why is the government so messed up?

Really why is it so messed up? We're smarter than this. It should be better.

Our government is messed up because we have too many different views in our government.

We have Democrats and Republicans. We have Liberals and Conservatives. We have Conservative Democrats and Conservative Republicans. We have Liberal Democrats and Liberal Republicans. We have Socialists, Communist, Fascist, Capitalist, etc.

But the main reason our government is messed up because each of these views are coming from the elected official's views themselves (or the views of the corporation who funded them), and not the people who voted for them.

I, as an American, am ready for there to be one party and one party only; the AMERICANS!!! I want Americans up there speaking the views of the Americans who voted for them. I want to see a Congress and a President who'll work together to discuss issues for America, and not issues in which they hold only dear to their hearts.

If we did this, America would be a much happier, healthier, safer, and better place to live.

We have become complacent, hoping they would be representing the people and have their interest in mind when they work.

We failed to keep tabs on them, we allowed Republicans to spend us into the ground, while getting our kids killed, and then give tax cuts to the rich. Exactly the ones who do not need it.

The adage is that power corrupts absolutely so it would be a good idea to keep closer tabs on them.

I would like to see a law that does not allow people to tack on pork-barrel money onto other legislation without it seeing the light of public scrutiny. A recipe for fraud and rewarding the rich. For what I am not clear?
