Take a look at what women wear where you are going and decide from that. I dressed up in a dress for a Halloween contest at work once (I was the second skirt there, the other was a woman dressed as a witch) as a protest against the slobs at the shop. I went a few places before hand to get in the feel for it and in most cases never turned a head.

Prior to that it was a couple of plays and a humorous skit that I wore a skirt and wig for, but that was exaggerated for effect. For you, then, keep your mouth shut (listening to all the "OMGs" that day when I spoke in my normal male voice on the phone--it was fun hearing all of those who hadn't noticed), and be normal for a person in your attire. Make it an act and have fun. If no one notices, then you can carry on, if they do, ham it up and give everyone a good laugh.

Work on your voice. If you can hit a G3 (195 hz) and keep your larynx raised to create a softer sound, your voice won't be as likely to give you away. As a quick start, start with the note closest to your natural voice then go up 4-5 notes (don't break into falsetto). If you don't know how to raise your larynx, try swallowing and see how far you can hold your throat in the swallowing position before things in the throat fall back down. Then try speaking (4+ notes up from the resting position). Other than that, watch what you say.

I'd try to use the bathroom before going out so you won't run into any restroom conflict. It is possible to get beaten in the one restroom and arrested in the other one, depending on the area.

Just remember to dress down, or at least appropriately for the occasion. You don't wear a ballgown, bridal dress, a cheerleader's outfit, or a French maid costume to the movies or to a mall. Those might be appropriate in a cabaret or at some TG event. A lot of times, women tend to just wear jeans, a blouse, and sneakers.

If you can grow your own hair and style it feminine, do so. If not, be sure to wear a decent hair piece or wig that doesn't look fake. Bad hair can be a dead give-away.

Do a decent job removing your facial hair. If you have to, shave your arms and hands too, and any hair that is exposed. If you're legs are not completely covered, shave those. On the face, try using either 2 razors (a single and a double) or an expensive razor (the one with 5 blades).

On makeup, conservative and understated is the best. Try to cover the beard shadow as best as you can without drawing attention to caked on makeup. The more expensive brands tend to work better. Dermablend, Mac, and Merle Norman are among the better ones.

Try not to do anything weird with your eyes or other makeup. Save the weird bright shapes out from the eyes, the eye glitter, and lines painted on the face for more festive occasions.

On jewelry, wear some, but don't overdo it. I'd avoid rainbows on accessories and clothing. There is no need to fight two battles at the same time.

Other than that, just act natural and ask yourself what women would do in whatever situation. Try not to even acknowledge name-calling and stares. The only reason to respond would be because you are guilty of something, and you would be doing nothing wrong. If you don't react, they may assume they have you mispegged. Just remind yourself that you are doing nothing wrong.

Dude if you really want to try ,then do this. First, find a female friend to help with your make-up. Make sure you are shaved really good. Then wear a nice ankle length skirt and a 3 in. pumps. A cute silk blouse will finish you off. As far as going out, the movie is a good first adventure. And it might help to have a girl freind or two with you. Then you wont be so nervous. Have fun and let me know how it goes.

First you have to feel confident in yourself to go out and not be nervous. Then go out in small steps. A pair of ladies jeans anda ladies polo. They button on the other side. Maybe some nylons and a loafer syle of shoe. Get your confidence up. The better you feel the better you will handle the so called pressure. Then you can progress to more feminine articles of clothing. I did it this way and now I go out all the time in ladies jeans, polos, shoes, and outerwear. Confidence is a wonderful thing--but sometimes it takes a small step at first to get the state of mind going. Good luck!

That sounds pretty funny, but i think society is like a box, something out the box will add some favor. Try doing it for halloween and then see how people respond. blame it on the holiday! if things don't go great.

*it was my costume* thats a good excuse lol

Wear something that does not make you stick out. For example wear jeans, pantyhose, bra and a blouse. Shave you face good and have a friend apply your makeup if you can.

Watch what part of town you go into. People may assault you... not sexual assault... assault.
