I lost mine at a later age than most do (18), but it was still too soon and the person I chose was the biggest mistake I have ever made. If I had to do it all over again, I would have waited till I got married. If you're asking this because you're still a virgin, don't be in a hurry.

It varies from person to person along with their religious upbringing, cultural attitudes and where in the world the person lives. In Western countries my personal opinion is that a girl should remain a virgin until she is AT LEAST 14 or older, and the boy about the same. I disapprove of the idea where in some countries the girl is married off shortly after reaching menses (11-13) or as in some country, just prior to menses (8-10).

The best age? Making a decision to become physically intimate is not about just age. At what age are you ready to handle the reality of procreation, of diseases and infections, and most importantly the emotional aspect of sharing your physical self to another person? It is not about a number or an age.
The best age? as if your sexuality will whither or you will regret at age 30 not having had sex at 16...come on now!

You shouldn't have sex until you are caplable of handling all the responsibilities of being sexually active. With sex comes risk, like potential pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. If you can't afford a baby or medical treatment, don't have sex.
Furthermore, you should be absolutely sure that the person you have your first sexual experience with is someone you really love, and more importantly, loves you. It should be someone you can realistically spend the rest of your life with. If it's not an experience out of love, It will be a bad memory for the rest of your life.

I strongly agree with those who say that you should start your sexual life when you get married. It's biblical, and it's the right background for that. I am 40 and I decided to save myself for the man I marry. I am going to be a bride soon, God sent me the most wonderful man, and I am so blessed! The wedding is on 19 May and I can't wait to offer my husband the most precious gift that I kept in store for him. And I want to tell everyone: It's worth waiting!!!! (Please, excuse my English but I am from Romania and I just arrived in America for a couple of weeks)

Being that I am a mom of 3 teens, and have had life experience, I now know that you should be absolutely sure that you want this guy to be your first. Plus it is just not being physically ready but mentally ready!! There is No rush. My brother waited until his wedding night and he was in his 20's when he got married. I am very proud of him for waiting.

after you finish college before then , it could screw up your life. you may not be emotionally ready for the can of worms that opens once you have sex and in today's age, you have to be careful about who you pick because they could give you a disease that could kill you or one for which there is no cure or they can be a nut job. Wait until you are done with schooling becausee if you get pregnant somehow, it may end up changing the course of your life. I lost my virginity because i felt it was a burden at 19 years old and I regret doing it. I should have waited until I found someone who was truly worthy of the gift i was giving him.

when you are emotionally mature enough to decide and take the responsibility on your own. more or less if you are independent and have your own life maybe that is the best time for you to lose your virginity. :)
