We have an EMachines monitor and we are wanting to get a new computer. We want to keep our monitor, but we are looking more towards an HP computer.
So are monitors compatible with other brands?

Just make sure the video card on your new computer has a VGA connector(and not just DVI). This is still pretty standard for new PC's, so you should be fine. Otherwise you'd need a plug converter. But yes, it will most likely work just fine.
