this is my first month on birth control. but i also have mono and i was given moxocllin(penocliian) which can decrease the effectiveness of birth control, but i didnt care because im not having sex right now and dont plan on it for a while...
so i got my period a week before i should, i wasn't on my placebo pills yet... and i havent written it down but its going over a week, with cramps and like 2 days ago it was slowing down, i thought i was done, and im on the placebos and now im not cramped but im bleeding still and alot... to the point i feel gross... i dont know what to do...
i mean i would stop but im on the placebos so im already not taking the hormones, you know?
i have 2 more days of the placebos then a new pack, i dont know if i should wait the 2 days out and see if the new pack with the hormones will stop it...
im done with the other moxocilliani was on by the way...like a week and half ago... im so scared im gonna over bleed in some way and get sick or die !

Any time you begin a birth control product it will have a affect on your body. You may need to let your body even out on the meds.
Not to scare you, but endometriosis causes heavy periods too. But there is pain and discomfort. Cysts also. My advice is to talk to your OB/GYN and let them know. And the anitbiotics will not cause this. You can how ever get a jeast infection from an antibiotic becasause they kill off bacteria all of it, even the good ones in the vaginal canal we women need. That is how a yeast infection is set in motion. Do not douche or anything, until you talk to your doctor.
I hope this somehow helps to ease you. I still think you just have to get regulated on the meds.

You're fine! It's totally NORMAL to have abnormal periods while on birth control pills. It takes quite a few months for your period to regulate to the placebo pills. So you'll get your period at all times. I think it wasn't until my 4th month on the pills that I actually started getting my period once I started the placebo pills. Keep taking the pills as directed and start the new pack when you're supposed to.

Irregular bleeding is common when you start a new pill and the antibiotic therapy interfered with the pills. Keep taking the pills as instructed. Take all of your placebo pills and then start your new pack.
Your next period should be better; hang in there. In the meantime, try taking Ibuprofen. It has helped me with heavy flow in the past.

Hi,
over a week is really not that long for a period...it takes a couple months for your body to regulate when you're on BC pills, your body doesn't know it's supposed to change cycle to match the pills in the box, you know?
could be they are not the right pills for you too. Ask your doc if it doesn't get better, but the first month or two on pills was always really uncomfortable for me too, really sore breasts etc. Hang in there.

don't worry. you aren't going to lose so much blood due from your period that you would die. your body knows how to handle itself. My friend was on birth control and had her period for 2 weeks and she said it was the worst feeling ever. she felt so sick forever and just felt like throwing up. even she'd wake up in the middle of the night. but it did finally go away after 2 weeks. if it goes longer than 2 weeks i would talk to your dr. i dont think the amoxicillion is harming it. i think its just because of the birth control. i've had mono several times. it sucks. get better soon!!!

call the dr, they have answering services and you pay them plenty . Tell them what's going on and that you are scared. BC can do lots of weird stuff, especailly the 1st month. Cramps can be awful. Good luck

that happened to a few of my friends...one of them bled for like 2 months straight...and they ended up getting really sick, not dying, but just incase if i were you i would go to a doctor or the clinic and get checked before you do get sick.
