Why do some english people dislike americans?

I live in (Dorset in the south of) England and surprisingly a lot of english people in my class dislike americans. Personally, I like them. I really don't know why they don't like them. I'm guessing their jealous. What do you think?

That's probably par for the course. It's not just parts of England, it's pretty much everywhere. We're fat, we're loud, we're arrogant, we're ignorant, we don't know geography, etc,etc,etc.....It gets a little old after a while.

I don't know why they don't like us. I wouldn't say it's jealousy. It's probably what they've seen on t.v. and whatnot that give them the impression that we're undesirable.

I'd just tell 'em "hey, you and most others 'eh?"

Dude...EVERYONE hates Americans...It's ok...That's why a lot of Americans tend to stay on our side of the pond. haha. A lot of Americans won't admit it, but they know Europeans tend to have an elitist attitude towards them, that's fine, I understand....Personally, that smug sense of entitlement that the English have is kind of endearing, haha, I get a kick out of it....Americans, contrary to popular belief, are some of the most understanding people in the world when you talk to them one on one. But as far as the English go, ya all are just good sh*t in my book, haha

As a Yank, I fully understand that there are plenty of us who leave a bad impression: the so-called "ugly american." They embarrass us all.

I am gratified that there are plenty like you who realize we are not all like them.

Americans are sexy and smart and wealthy and vigilant. but mainly because Americans have endless sex drive while Brits are sterile and limp.
