Bela Lugosi set the bench mark for all vampire actors, the creepy accent, the facial expressions. Did you know he was even buried in his costume from his movie, he was in the broadway play of dracula before the movie was made, he couldnt even speak much english, or read it, he learned all his lines phonetically by getting someone else to read them to him and he repeated what they said, but he memorised them. Nosferatu was the first ever vampire movie, it was a silent movie, but Bela was the first talking vampire. Cool huh.

I have to give it to George Hamilton's performance in "Love At First Bite". I mean, I know it's cheesy, but it really stands up (Richard Benjamin runs around ruining it, but hey, it was the 70's)
I love his True Blue Lugosi style. Dracula is driven out by the communist government and seeks refuge in New York City to become a modelizer. It's hilarious the way Susan St. James tries to jadedly seduce him!
P.S. The special effects are shoestring.
Other Vamp Faves--The Lost Boys (Laddie in particular) and James Marsters as Spike from Buffy/Angel. And of course, the Interview dreamboats!

Jonathan Frid in the 1966-1971 era "Dark Shadows" TV drama! He was spooky enough in B/W when the show first started, but when our home got our first color TV in 1969, the terrifying wounds he left behind on the tasty necks of moaning virgins were oozing like the finest red wine!!
