I am in a relationship where I need to do this, and I'm not sure what to get in order to not put people off wherever I go.

Why not? People might not even notice if it's not too wide. What sort of collar are you thinking of? Do you have any links?

It would be "socially acceptable" but it would look like you had just escaped from the dog pound!
If this is what you have to do to stay in the "relationship" you need to find a better relationship with somebody more normal! Get rid of the dog collar AND the loser!

It's OK to wear a leather collar, depending on where you wear it. And, besides, what kind of guy insists on you wearing a leather collar. If I was you, I'd run as far away from this guy as possible, because he sounds like a control freak. If you don't want to wear that collar, tell him to take a long walk off a short pier ! Be yourself. Don't get into something in which you are told what to wear. RUN, BABY, RUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are asking the question then you really have to look into the fact of what you are being asked to do. If we are talking master and sub/slave then you are asking something completely out of line as to where the trust lays with the master. It doesn't sound like to me you are truly there where the relationship lays or you wouldn't be questioning what you are being asked to do. Step out of it! That isn't a life for the faint hearted and if you are seeking answers to this question I am sure there are many other things you have no answers to either. Your Master/Dom should be the one you seek to find the answer from. If he's asking you to wear his collar then it's one he should be picking out for you not one that you are picking out for yourself. Thy master/dom must not be true to what he calls himself. Careful in what you seek because there is a strong possibility he's not whom he says he is but someone who's not experienced, doesn't deserve trust, etc.

A leather collar? How wide? Most people will most likely just see it as jewelry or a fashion accessory. Don't worry about. Can you put a link of a picture up of what you're talking about? I'd like a better idea of what you're talking about. Thanks.

some friends of mine are also in this kind of relationship...they get weird stares & comments all the time, but whatever...do what u want to!!! it wouldn`t bother me if i saw it, as long as i`m not the one wearing the collar!!! sorry, but i won`t be in that type of relationship!!!
