My ex-wife asked me to babysit her step son, and make sure he gets to school on time, and such, while she goes on a week long honeymoon to Japan... I think. I said I would so I have him this weekend through next weekend. I'm wondering if I made a mistake.... I like the kid, but still.....

No, I think that was really very sweet of you. You and your X must be pretty close. It is a huge compliment for someone to trust you with their children. That is the most precious thing they have.
Babysitting is fun! Let your own inner child out. Bake some cookies, let him stay up too late and eat too much junk! Watch some scary movies and if he is late for school...don't sweat it. You are doing her a favor! Just relax.
The worse thing you can do is try too hard to stick to the rules and regulations. Be his friend...he has parents.

Well, as long as you and the kid get along, I see no big deal. Just make sure she returns from the Orient, and not stick you with the little guy.

Its cool that you do that just dont use ut as false hope that maybe one day you two will get back together. Shes just using you as a babysitter. As long as your cool with that, I think its ok. Its good to be a nice person

you should have thought it over real well before saying yes.
but you are doing the kid a favor by staying with him.
it is for a week so that isn't long.

If you think you should, then do whatever you want to do. There's no right or wrong thing to do. Whatever makes you feel good. If I were you, I'd enjoy my weekends doing my own things.

PLus, if you do fun things with him, he will probably end up wanting to spend more time with you and he will tell that to your ex-wifes husband and he will be JEALOUS...
