Do you think it is important to him? Did he do more harm than good?

One can never be sure how history will judge the people and events of the current day, but I'll give it a go....

1 -- It may be remembered that he squandered the respect and goodwill that the U.S. enjoyed among nations and peoples by pursuing an ill-advised, poorly-planned and badly-executed war in Iraq and justifying it with demonstrably false claims, thus impairing our ability to rally the world to any truly important cause.
2 -- It may be remembered that while he focused his attention--and the nation's efforts--on Iraq, he failed to effectively confront the very real nuclear programs in Iran and North Korea, as well as the growing power of China. If---most likely, when--those nations become threats to our security, his choices will probably be seen as critical.
3 -- It will likely be remembered that he dramatically expanded the authority of the government to investigate and detain people, including its own citizens, without judicial warrants and without any real oversight. This administration has advanced--and acted upon--the belief that the president, in time of war, is not bound by constitutional restrictions on his authority, even while telling us that the "War on Terror" is essentially eternal. This presidential power grab could well have grave consequences down the road.
4 -- It may be remembered that he used miniscule tax cuts for the average citizen to bribe the people into supporting huge tax cuts for the wealthy, thus creating record government debt just a few years after his predecessor had submitted two consecutive budgets with surpluses. (A previous generation of balanced-budget Republicans must be spinning in their graves!) When Social Security and Medicare shortfalls start affecting us in a decade or so, his actions may be central to it.
5 -- It may be remembered that he deepened the cultural divide in this country by taking a hard evangelical-Christian line on most cultural issues, even as he knows that more than half of the country doesn't share his hard-core beliefs. This ever-widening chasm between cultures may be the single greatest long-term problem this nation faces.
6 -- It will almost certainly be remembered that he ignored the long-term environmental dangers that loom over our future and instead catered to short-sighted corporate interests on environmental policy, even having White House officials with no scientific background rewrite scientific reports that did not support administration policies on issues like global warming.

That's just for starters....

I am certain, however, that he thinks he's doing the right thing.
More's the pity....

Psshhh!!! The only time you would see President George W. Bush and good president in the same sentence is if the words is not is between them! That question made me laugh...So, the answer is no! It's probably not important to him, otherwise he would've been a better president, and yeah, I think he did more harm than good, what about you?

In 15-20 years history will record him as one of the five best. For now no. He tried to free the middle east, time will tell. We were going into a recession his taxes breaks gave us the best economy in years. Yes history will prove his critics wrong. That's called how to drive a libel nuts. He has had more lies told about him then any other president the Democratic at work. They did a good PR job Goebbels would of been proud

I think it's important to him, I think he thinks his actions are going to be justified 20 years down the road and that everyone will look back on his decisions as just.

I think however in 20 years rather than looking at someone who persevered when trying to do the right thing he'll just look like someone who was stupidly stubborn.

Bush will go down in history alongside such noteworthy disasters as Nero, Caligula, King George III, Hitler, and Captain Smith (Capt. of the Titanic).

But I believe that Bush is so deeply psychotic that he actually believes he is doing a great job.
