I would employ the same due diligence as you would with anyone. Employment stability, do they have checking accounts, copies of bank statements, verification of previous rent payments, call previous landlord.
To those who say "who cares" are not dealing with reality. An alternative lifestyle means just that. I had a house in family neighborhood and some college kids wanted to rent the house and have rock band practice. Not judging, but the neighbors would have called the police the first and every time they played. I told them that, and they looked for someplace more suitable.

Why would you even care? It's none of your business. As a landlord, you should know that it's discrimination to refuse to rent to them on that basis. Check their credit, make sure they're employed & can afford the rent, and if they can, their personal lives shouldn't affect you. They're no more likely to cause you a problem than anyone else is. If they do break their rental agreement somehow, that's a separate issue. :)

I am a landlord and would have no problem with thisl. I look for honest, law-abiding, hard working people to rent my apartments and have a waiting list a mile long, the rest of it is none of my business.

Yeah, as long as they paid their rent. Who cares about their lifestyle, as long as they can keep up with their bills! All your worried about is the money anyways as a landlord!
