I am curious; how much does a nose ring hurt? How do they pierce your nose when you go to get it done? Am I taking a big risk? I really want to get it done though, so that is not an issue. I have wanted it for a long time!

It hurts about as much as getting your ear lobes pierced. The take a little clamp and put it on your nostril and push a little needle through and then put the little stud in. It's quite simple. Nose piercings are REALLY easy to get infected so you have to keep it SUPER clean. Otherwise you'll have this big swollen sore on your nose. If you get it done just go to an experienced body piercer.

You "really want"...

Why? Do you worship the Goddess Parvathi or Lord Shiva?

They've been piercing their noses in India for over 4,000 years, it's nothing new. In fact, it's VERY old.

It won't make you any different however, you'll just have a nose ring, no cooler, no better, and some people won't like it. But at least you'll have it "done" so you can move on to the next big thing.

A nose ring is a quick sting that will make your eyes water. You have to be careful with a nose ring because they get infected easily because noses are very oily. I had one and it is the only piercing that ever got infected (I have had many including my clitoral hood---I know, but I was a teenager) If you get it you have to keep your hands off it and if it gets infected, and maybe if it doesn't you will have a small scar on your nose if you let it close.

No it wont hurt at all.Being a male I have pierced mine last year myself. Its just like a pinch.just look out that the area is well cleaned before it is done.Dont play with it by changing the stud or the ring again and again till it heels completely .Rest U'll love the experience .so go for it and get it done. PLEASE LET ME KNOW AFTER U HAVE DONE,AS U WILL BE VERY GLAD OF THE RESULT. Best of luck.

it doesn`t hurt at all!!! they will use a needle to do it...don`t get it done at a place where they use the gun...a gun has a tendency to mangle the tissue, because it is applying blunt force to make the hole...also, guns cannot be properly sterilized, so u risk an infection or possible transmission of some icky diseases i`m sure u don`t want!!! any professional, reputable piercer will only use a needle...when i had mine done, u could see him take the needle from a brand-new, sealed packet, & when he was finished with my piercing, he gave me the needle to take with me, as a kind of souvenir!!! if u go to an experienced piercer, who works in a clean, sanitary environment & then follow up on all the after-care procedures, u should be fine!!!

I actually just went about a month ago with my cousin and watched her get it done. Its kinda gross to watch but she said it barely hurt...they numb your nose first so it shouldn't hurt too bad. Also, she said it went by wicked fast, she was surprised when it was over and even asked "so did you do it yet?" ha ha although it did hurt a little after she had it done. Not much more than having your ears pierced though!

got mine done a week ago and it has been a bit of a trauma as I got it done with a gun and they are not meant to do that but anyway . .all is settled down now . .it does really hurt . .just a sting when it gets done but there isnt much pain afterwards . .and i have had a lot of piercings . . its not really a big deal if you get it done properly as millions of people hae them done . . and if you ar worried about a scar it will just look like a big blackhead! nobody will notice . . .i waited until i was 24 to get mine done . . should have just done it earlier . . you only live once . . .just choose a good place and a good piece of jewellery to get it done with!

I had my nose pierced a few years ago. It does hurt; anyone who says different is a liar, lol. But it's not so bad that you cannot handle it. They pierce it with a long hollow needle, and it's pretty quick. It's not usualy a big risk if you do it at a clean, reputable place, and your skin and nose area have no pre existing problems/ issues.

I loved mine :)

It doesnt hurt that bad. But it does hurt more that getting your ears pierced since the tissue in your nose is thicker. But you may want to consider who is going to hire you once you get it pierced...

Take in consideration your age, if you only 15-18 you are still young, and no matter how long you have wanted this, you still have to think how will you feel tomorrow or when your 100, would you really want a whole in your nose?
