Thunder is not alive, therefore it cannot die. Thunder is simply another sound, generated by rhythmic compression of air into waves, which are picked up by the ears of hearing animals. After the waves pass us, we no longer hear the sound. When the power of the wave is used up and it can no longer compress enough air to generate another wave, there is no more sound. So, rather than dieing, thunder, like any other sound, simply dissipates with time and distance from its source of origin.

dude thunder is not alive its starts out as a flash of lightning the air around the lightning will make a big clap sound because the lightning is so hot the air around the lightning will make a big boom then the sound travel through air as sound wave and then the wave will get smaller and smaller soon there will be no thunder sound. think of it this way if you drop a pebble on the water the wave will get smaller and smaller then it will be gone.

have i explained it good?
