it's a drug to prevent any pregnancies. It usually is in used in rape cases at the hospital. I don't think you can get it over the counter.

it contains the same hormone found in most regular pills but in a much higher concentration. It stops the egg from attaching to the uterus and is fairly effective if taken soon after sex the longer you leave it the less the effectiveness and it should be used within 72 hours it is available from your doctor , family planning clinic and most (but not all) pharmacies. There are also now new tablets available that can be taken after discovering you are pregnant to abort the pregnancy, but this is NOT a contraceptive

It helps prevent the ovulation and/or fertilization of existing eggs. It uses hormones just like the birth-control pills but in higher doses. Sometimes it uses just one hormone, but the result is the same. It is not the same as the so called abortion pill, because it is totally safe

You have 72 hours after the incident to take "the pill".
It prevents the sperm from bonding to the egg. Thus avoiding the pregnancy.
People will tell you it is abortion. They are misinformed.

It prevents the fertilized egg from embedding itself in the uterus. Therefore, you don't get pregnant. It commonly disrupts the menstrual cycle. The most common side-affect is nausea.

The morning after pill (RU481) forces youto menstrate for a day. This causes any egg (zygote after fertilization) to be unable to attach to your uterus wall. If there is a zygote (chromosomoly human) it is pushed out of the body. If there is no zygote any eggs present in your system are pushed out.

I think it basically prevents the fertilized egg (if there is one) from attaching to the placenta. That is why timing is so critical.

i don't know the medical terminology, but it pretty much kills whatever might have been fertilized the last time you had sex... its not like an abortion or anything, its more like birth control that you take after! i have never taken it so i don't know what it would do to you if you took it, like making you sick or anything.
