No I have teh same problem. Its just discharge. As gross as it is...its the joys of being pregnant. Your mucus plus should have more pinkish tint to it or something.....you should know when it is your mucus plus. there's somethign "different" about it.

In all likelihood this is not your mucus plug. It is a normal discharge called leukorrhea. If you have any concerns, it is always best to check with your OB. Your Dr will want to know if you are experiencing any other symptoms such as cramping, contractions, color of your discharge, if there is any foul or fishy odor to your discharge; itching, swelling, or pain; any bleeding, and /or any gushing of water/fluid;and activity of the baby. At this stage in your pregnancy you should be able to recognize your baby's movements.

When you pass your mucus plug, it is usually accompanied by what is called a "pink" or "bloody show." Meaning that you will have some spotting along with it. This is a common occurrence. The passing of your mucus plug is usually a sign of dilation. The mucus plug is literally a "plug" to your cervix.

If at anytime during your pregnancy you experience any spotting or bleeding, call your doctor immediately.

I never knew I even lost my mucus plug, so I don't know what it looks like. but I have been dilated for 3 months now and I'm 34 weeks. I lost the plug 3 months ago. I think you should go see your doctor, you might be dilating, but you can go a while dilated without actually giving birth. I know all about going awhile. GOOD LUCK!!

Some women describe the mucous plug as looking more like the mucous in your nose. It may look like a thick glob of stringy mucous, thicker than what you would see with normal vaginal secretions. If you are close to going into labor you may see pink, brown, or red blood around the edges of the mucous plug. This is called the “bloody show”.

When do you lose your mucous plug?
Some women will lose their mucous plug or part of their mucous plug weeks before they go into labor. Losing your mucous plug does not always mean labor will begin shortly. Keep in mind that even if a woman has begun to dilate, it may be weeks before she actually goes into labor. However, if you notice blood tinged mucous before your thirty-sixth week of pregnancy, notify your doctor right away. As your body prepares for labor your cervix will begin to dilate and thin. As your cervix opens up, your mucous plug may fall out. Losing your mucous plug is a good sign that labor is on its way. Though, it could be days or even weeks after you lose your mucous plug before labor actually starts. Many women do not lose their mucous plug at one time; instead, they lose it more gradually. They may notice an increase in vaginal secretions weeks before they go into labor.

What will it look like if I lose my mucus plug?

When you lose your mucus plug, it may be a little or a lot of gel like material. It will may be in a glob, stringy or just wetness. The mucus plug is clear to yellow-brownish in color, but may also be pinkish.

Does losing my mucus plug mean I am in labor?

Losing your mucus plug does not necessarily mean you are in labor. This can occur up to two weeks before labor begins. This can also occur right as labor is beginning. You will have to wait and see if you have any other signs of labor. Such as your water breaks or you begin to have contractions.

sounds more like discharge - I wouldnt worry... Its one of those "joys" of being pregnant. Mine got so bad I had to wear a pad to work...
I asked my doc & he said it was my bodies way of keeping it "clean" down there to prevent infections, germs etc... before the baby comes out - perfectly normal.
But the mucus plug - at least what mine looked like was a bloody, mucusy plug... It really looked like a plug...
So what your saying doesnt really sound like that.

Sounds like it could be. I lost mine at 35 weeks, and the doctors told me not to worry, that I could still go full-term, but I went into labor a few days later. My baby was a preemie, but she was fine.

Go to the doctor if you feel like you are leaking amniotic fluid or having any contractions!

it could just be your mucus thickening. Check with your doc the next time you go in. But there is no hurry to talk to him/her. It could be the mucus plug, but unlikely.

I had what I called a runny vagina for weeks. If you start to see a little bit of blood, call your doctor/midwife.
