(note: dont get defensive, my intentions are not malicious and of course I would not want to harm the pregnancy. Just wasn't sure. Thats why I ask.)

I have Mirena as well, but I really don't know of any ways. I would just go have it taken out by your dr. I just hope that you are trying to get pregnant for the right reasons-- no judgment though. You just do not want to find yourself in a compromising situation with a baby on the way. KWIM

Why don't you get it out first? I have heard that getting pregnant with the Mirena can cause you to miscarry. I had the Merina for 2 years and hated every minute of it! But I don't think I could have gotten pregnant with that thing in if I wanted to!

My mom got pregnant with an IUD in. It cut the baby up so bad, it almost aborted him. I severely advise you against this. It is implanted in your small uterus, right where the baby has to implant. You are very likely to abort your unborn baby. If you want to maliciously get pregnant to whomever, which is also unfair, if you insist, I would advise you to have it taken out and then get pregnant......you can always not tell whomever its out, they would never know, its in your uterus remember. I also strongly advise AGAINST all of these options...but, if you are going to get pregnant anyway, I would rather you lie to someone about the iud than to abort a baby. Good luck in whatever you decide. :(

There really is no way to reduce the effectiveness of mirena. Also, of the women who do get pregnant using an IUD, the rate of miscarriage is very very high. And since mirena uses hormones as well then your child, should you not miscarry, is very likely to have mental issues.

Nope. I know of someone who drugged a girl and ripped it out...she didn't know until she went to the doctor coz she hadn't stopped bleeding for weeks. Caused her so much damage, physical and mental, that she will never have more kids.
You would have to get it taken out before trying to fall pregnant...nothing can sabotage it for you. I got pregnant as soon as the doctors took mine out.

Best thing to do is have it removed FIRST, get pregant second. This is the safest, healthiest way for you and baby.
Good luck.
